• Chancel Choir: This is our worship choir which includes high school through adult singers who love to praise the Lord through music. Chancel Choir leads the music for traditional worship services Sundays at 10 a.m. Rehearsals are on Sunday morning at 8:45 a.m. before worship. The Chancel Choir sings from the Sunday following Labor Day through Memorial Day. They share special music for World Communion, Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas Eve, Lent and Easter. The third Sunday of Advent is the Christmas Cantata Worship Service which includes all of the choirs of church as well as guest vocalists and instrumentalists.
  • Junior Choir: The Junior Choir offers opportunities throughout the school year for children in 2nd through 8th grades to sing during Sunday worship.  This choir helps teach younger children a special song each month to sing during the Children’s Time.  In May, the Junior Choir culminates their singing season with a wonderful musical that brings a Christian message through drama and song.  Rehearsals for Junior Choir are held on Wednesdays starting in October from 6:30 – 7:30 pm in the music room downstairs.
  • Handbell Choir: The Handbell Choir is a group of volunteer musicians who are able to read music and learn the techniques of ringing bells.  This choir rings throughout the year for special worship services.  Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 in the Upper Fellowship Hall.
  • Growth Through Music: A college scholarship program is available to any high school student who is willing to participate in the Chancel Choir.  If the requirement of 75% attendance to worship services and rehearsals is met, $500 per student is put into an account each semester.  Upon attendance to a university or junior college, payments of $500 per semester will be paid through the Foundation to the colleges.

All are welcome to come and join one of the choirs at First Presbyterian Church of Morris. For further questions, please contact Kim Struck, Director of Music 815-942-1865.
